A hundred small jobs a year, done the same way every time.
Since 2021, County agencies have called WCC for structured cabling across County facilities under a single countywide contract: engineering and design, new installs, moves and changes, and repairs, every one of them under prevailing wage.
Contract term, extended by the County in 2023 and again in 2026
Service requests a year across County facilities
Tickets open on the same day in a busy stretch
Prevailing wage, certified payroll, background-checked technicians
No single project. Just the next ticket.
A county the size of Orange doesn't run cabling as projects. It runs it as a queue: a workstation move at one agency, a failed run at another, a new office that needs twenty drops by the end of the month, a clinic that needs a jack repaired before Monday. There are busy weeks with three or four tickets open at once and quiet weeks with none, and the County needs the same crew, the same standard, and the same paperwork on every one of them.
That's harder than it sounds for a contractor. Each call carries the full public-works load: prevailing wage rates by classification, certified payroll under Labor Code 1776, background-checked technicians, cable and terminations held to ANSI/BICSI and TIA standards with no off-shore product accepted. A one-hour repair carries the same compliance as a hundred-drop install.
The County opens a ticket. We close it.
Requests come to us through the County's ServiceNow system, the same way County agencies submit any other IT request, so the County sees status, hours, and materials in the tool they already use.
Scope first
Every request starts with a site walk and a written scope at no charge. The agency knows what it's getting and what it costs before a technician is dispatched.
Engineering when it's needed
Larger requests get a design pass from our engineers, added to the contract in 2022 so agencies could get drawings and bills of materials from the same contractor doing the install.
Install, move, repair
New drops, fiber and copper backbone, moves and changes, and repairs across County facilities. Labor billed on actual time to the quarter hour, materials itemized per location with receipts.
Standards and paperwork
Name-brand cable and terminations meeting ANSI/BICSI NI-2019 and TIA 568.1-D, certified payroll on every job, and Cal/OSHA-compliant safety practice under the County's contractor safety provisions.
