WCC Technologies Group is a Rhombus partner in Southern California. Rhombus is a cloud-managed platform for security cameras, access control and video intercoms, all run from one web dashboard called Rhombus Console. Cameras record to built-in storage, so there's no NVR or video server at any site. We design, supply, install and support Rhombus systems for businesses, schools, healthcare and public agencies.

What Rhombus is and how it works
Rhombus is a Sacramento-based physical security company founded in 2016. Its cameras record locally to onboard storage and connect to Rhombus Console in the cloud for live view, search, alerts and user management. If the internet goes down, cameras keep recording and sync when the connection returns.
Because nothing is installed on-site beyond the devices themselves, adding a new building is mostly a matter of mounting cameras and assigning them in Console. That makes Rhombus a practical choice for organizations with several sites and a small IT team. Rhombus also publishes an open API with integrations into access control, identity, alerting and business systems.

Commercial camera systems in Southern California typically run $900 to $3,000 per camera installed, and access control $1,500 to $4,500 per door. Rhombus adds an annual Console license per device. Licensing
How Rhombus licensing works
Every Rhombus camera, door controller and intercom needs an active Console license, purchased per device for a set term. The license covers cloud management, software updates and the platform features included in that tier; longer cloud archive retention and some advanced features cost more. Hardware is bought once. When we quote Rhombus, we show hardware, licenses for the term you choose, installation and any network work as separate lines, so you can compare it fairly against other platforms.
Budget for the full license term up front if you can. Multi-year terms usually cost less per year than renewing annually, and they keep every device on the same renewal date.

Does Rhombus need an NVR or server?
No. Rhombus cameras record to onboard storage and are managed in the cloud through Rhombus Console. Cameras keep recording during internet outages and sync when the connection returns.
Can Rhombus use my existing cameras?
Often, yes. Rhombus Relay connects many existing ONVIF and RTSP cameras to Console for viewing and recording, which helps with phased migrations. Advanced analytics work best on Rhombus cameras.

How long does Rhombus keep footage?
Each camera stores footage on board for a set number of days that depends on the model, resolution and motion. Optional cloud archiving extends retention for clips or continuous recording.
Does Rhombus access control support mobile credentials?
Yes. Rhombus supports card and mobile credentials, with door events linked to camera video in Console.
