Avigilon Alta Access Control in Southern California

WCC Technologies Group installs Avigilon Alta cloud-managed access control for Southern California organizations requiring fast deployment, mobile credentials, visitor management, and centralized multi-site access visibility — with no on-premises server required.

What Is Alta Access

Cloud-Managed Access Control — Mobile-First, No Server Required

Avigilon Alta Access is Motorola Solutions' cloud-managed access control platform — door controllers and BLE/NFC readers managed through a centralized cloud dashboard with no on-premises access control server required. Alta Access is purpose-built for organizations requiring mobile credentials, visitor management, SSO integration, and centralized policy management across distributed locations.

WCC deploys Alta Access for multi-tenant office buildings requiring per-tenant access segmentation, K-12 school districts needing visitor management and mobile staff credentials, commercial real estate operators managing access across multiple properties, and as the branch-location access control component of Unity+Alta hybrid enterprise deployments. For on-premises access control, see Avigilon Unity Access Control.

What WCC Delivers

Door Hardware Survey

Door type, frame, strike/latch, reader location, and cabling path assessed per door before any hardware is ordered — no surprises at installation.

Controller & Reader Installation

Alta Access controller wiring, BLE/NFC reader mounting, and commissioning — fully tested at every access point before handoff.

Cloud Dashboard Configuration

Site setup, access groups, schedules, and role-based policies configured and validated — ready for your team to manage on day one.

Mobile Credential Deployment

Phone-as-badge provisioning, issuance workflow, and expiration policies configured — iOS and Android, tap or hands-free unlock.

SSO & Directory Integration

Okta, Azure AD, or SAML sync for automated credential provisioning and deprovisioning tied to HR lifecycle events.

Admin Training & Runbooks

Live walkthrough with your security team plus documented procedures for credential management, visitor workflows, door operations, and incident response.

Platform Capabilities

Avigilon Alta Access — Key Capabilities

Alta Access provides cloud-managed access control with the mobile credential flexibility, visitor management depth, and multi-site centralization required for modern distributed organizations.

Mobile Credentials

Phone-as-badge via BLE and NFC — credentials issued, managed, and revoked from the Alta cloud dashboard. No physical card issuance required. Works with both iOS and Android with tap or hands-free unlock options.

Visitor Management

Pre-registration portal for hosts to schedule visitors, issue temporary credentials with defined access scope and expiration, and log visit records — eliminates manual front desk credential processes and paper visitor logs.

SSO & Directory Sync

Integration with Okta, Azure AD, and SAML identity providers — new employees provisioned automatically, departed employees deprovisioned immediately, without manual credential management steps.

Centralized Multi-Site Management

Manage access policies, user credentials, and event logs across all Alta Access locations from a single cloud dashboard — consistent role definitions and schedule templates across distributed Southern California facilities.

Offline Door Operation

Alta Access controllers cache access policies locally — doors continue granting and denying access according to configured roles and schedules during internet outages. Cached credentials and schedules remain active until connectivity is restored.

Alta Camera Integration

Native integration with Avigilon Alta cameras through the unified cloud dashboard — access control events linked to camera footage, enabling rapid incident investigation without switching between systems.

FAQ

Avigilon Alta Access Control FAQs

What is Avigilon Alta Access Control?
Avigilon Alta Access is Motorola Solutions' cloud-managed access control platform — door controllers and BLE/NFC readers managed through a centralized cloud dashboard with no on-premises server required. It supports mobile credentials, visitor management, SSO integration, and native integration with Avigilon Alta cameras. For on-premises access control, see Avigilon Unity Access Control.
What happens to door access if the internet goes down?
Alta Access controllers cache access policies locally — doors continue granting and denying access according to configured roles and schedules during internet outages. Cached credentials and schedule configurations remain active. Cloud dashboard management and remote access event visibility are unavailable during an outage but restore automatically when connectivity returns.
How do Alta Access mobile credentials work?
Alta Access mobile credentials use BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and NFC to unlock doors using an employee's iPhone or Android phone. Credentials are issued, managed, and revoked from the Alta cloud dashboard — no physical card issuance required. Employees can use tap-to-unlock or hands-free unlock depending on reader configuration. WCC configures the credential provisioning workflow and trains administrators on issuance and revocation procedures at handoff.
Can Alta Access integrate with our Okta or Azure AD identity provider?
Yes. Alta Access supports SSO and directory integration with Okta, Azure AD, and SAML-based identity providers — new employees are provisioned automatically, departed employees deprovisioned immediately, without manual access control steps. WCC configures the directory sync and tests the provisioning and deprovisioning workflows at handoff.
Can you deploy Alta Access at branches and Unity Access at headquarters?
Yes — this is a common architecture. Unity Access provides on-premises, offline-resilient access control at headquarters and high-security sites; Alta Access provides cloud-managed, mobile-credential access control at branches and distributed locations. WCC documents the platform differences and keeps access policies consistent across both. See Unity Access Control for on-premises detail.
