Structured Cabling for Distribution and Industrial Facilities

Warehouse cabling has a different set of challenges than commercial office cabling — cable runs to high-bay AP mounting points at 25–35 feet, long horizontal runs across large floor plates, dock door runs that need conduit protection in high-traffic industrial areas, and IDF placement that balances both IT switching and scanner AP coverage zones. The cabling infrastructure also needs to support security cameras at dock doors and throughout the facility, access control at every controlled entry point, and in some facilities, SCADA or environmental monitoring cabling alongside the IT infrastructure.

WCC Technologies Group provides structured cabling for warehouse and distribution facilities as a complete scope — Cat6A horizontal cabling, fiber optic backbone, IDF rack builds, conduit installation in industrial areas, Fluke DSX2 certification, and full as-built documentation. We're headquartered in Chino, CA — the Inland Empire's distribution corridors are our primary market.

Cabling and networking under one scope. WCC installs structured cabling and the switching infrastructure that runs on it — IDF placement is optimized for both IT switching and scanner AP coverage zones from the design stage. Learn about warehouse network infrastructure →

Warehouse Cabling by Facility Type

WCC installs structured cabling for every distribution and industrial environment across Southern California.

Distribution & Fulfillment Centers

Large-footprint cabling for distribution operations — Cat6A to every AP mounting point, dock door, office area, and security camera location across high-bay facilities.

Cold Storage & Refrigerated Facilities

Cabling in temperature-controlled environments — materials and routing appropriate for refrigerated and freezer warehouse areas alongside ambient-temperature office and dock zones.

Manufacturing & Light Industrial

Cabling for manufacturing environments — Cat6A for office and control stations, conduit runs on production floors, and low voltage cabling for cameras and access control.

New Construction — Industrial

Low-voltage subcontractor on industrial new construction throughout Southern California — submittals, trade coordination, phased installation, and owner-turnover documentation.

Tenant Improvement & Expansion

Cabling for warehouse TI and expansion projects — additional IDF capacity, new dock door runs, expanded office areas, and camera infrastructure in occupied operating facilities.

Multi-Building Industrial Campus

Cabling infrastructure for multi-building industrial campus environments — fiber backbone between structures, standardized IDF deployment, and coordinated port scheduling across buildings.

How We Install Warehouse Structured Cabling

Every WCC warehouse cabling project is designed for your specific facility layout — IDF placement for AP coverage zones, conduit runs in industrial areas, and Fluke-certified copper throughout.

01

Warehouse Cabling Design

Cable routes, IDF placement, port counts, and conduit pathways designed from your facility's floor plan. IDF placement coordinated with both IT switching requirements and WiFi AP coverage zones.

02

Conduit & Pathway Installation

Conduit installed in dock door areas, high-traffic industrial zones, and any overhead runs requiring protection from forklift and equipment activity.

03

Cable Pull

Cat6A pulled to every AP mounting point, office area, dock door camera location, and access control door. Long runs staged and pulled in organized bundles.

04

Termination & Rack Build

Wall plates and patch panels terminated. IDF racks built with switches, patch panels, and cable management. Every port labeled at both ends.

05

Fluke Certification

Every copper run Fluke DSX2 tested to Category 6A. All fail results resolved before documentation is generated.

06

Documentation Handoff

As-built port schedule, Fluke test reports, rack diagram, conduit layout, and labeling guide delivered to your IT and facilities teams.

Warehouse Structured Cabling — Frequently Asked Questions

What cabling does a warehouse distribution center need?

A typical distribution center needs: Cat6A home-runs to every high-bay AP mounting point (usually at 25–35 feet), Cat6A to every dock door for cameras and any door access control, Cat6A to office and administrative areas, Cat6A or coax to any fixed workstation positions on the floor, fiber optic backbone between the MDF and any IDFs, and conduit protection on runs through high-traffic industrial areas near dock doors and forklift lanes.

Do you run conduit in warehouse environments?

Yes — WCC installs conduit in industrial areas of warehouse facilities where cable protection is required — dock door areas, forklift lanes, any overhead cable runs in areas with equipment clearance concerns, and surface-mounted runs along walls in high-traffic areas. Conduit type and installation method are specified based on your facility's specific conditions.

How do you handle high-bay cable runs to AP mounting points?

High-bay AP mounting points at 25–35 feet require Cat6A home-runs from the nearest IDF — typically in conduit for the overhead portion of the run, transitioning to J-hook or cable tray above the racking. WCC installs high-bay cable runs using man-lifts and rigging appropriate for your facility's ceiling height, coordinated with your facilities team and warehouse operations.

Do you install cabling for new warehouse construction in the Inland Empire?

Yes — WCC works as a low-voltage subcontractor on new construction and major TI projects throughout the Inland Empire's Ontario, Fontana, Chino, and Rancho Cucamonga logistics corridors. Submittals, trade coordination, phased installation, and owner-turnover documentation.

Do you provide warehouse structured cabling across Southern California?

Yes — WCC provides warehouse structured cabling throughout the Inland Empire, Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Diego County. The IE distribution corridor is our home market.
